Hi! I'm Phil Scott, a software technology leader with over 35 years of experience building digital solutions and leading teams and businesses into digital maturity.
Background
I started my career as in tech support, then programming, software architecture, project management and executive management. During the dot-com boom/bust cycle, I co-owned a world-famous digital design firm. During the 2001-2005 downturn in the tech industry,I entered into the space of tech-org and project turn-arounds, taking struggling teams and struggling projects to new levels of delivering results. I've spent almost half my career in tech and management consulting, and the remainder working in multiple industries.
Current Focus
Presently, I lead a global team for a FAANG stock company, focussed on digitalization of supply chain business operations. I lead a group of Technical Product and Program Managers who envision and then deliver unified customer experiences through technology.
While this is what they pay me to do, my original passion for coding persists. So, I continuously invent micro-projects for occasional dabbling in new technologies and languages, just to stay sharp (and to have fun). Check my blog articles to see what specifically I'm playing with, or what strange thoughts are rattling around in my head.
This Blog
This blog is where I share anything that I feel like I need to express out loud. I will not constrain myself to technology or business topics. Perhaps I'll write about aspects of human psychology that I find interesting, or cultural differences I discover in my world travels. I may occasionally write about concepts like Ontology, mind hacks, or next generation AI. I most certainly will write about technology and my little experiments.
Let's Connect
Find me on LinkedIn. I'm always happy to connect with other technology philosophers, growth hackers, business people and the terminally curious!
